Quote: "The fuselage structure is sufficiently rigid in bending and torsion so as to allow it to be completed by gluing the upper half-frames in the air with the relative covering. The most 'mangy' part of the wing is the 2 mm balsa coating of the connection area between the external and intermediate parts. The veneer is made with several pieces of balsa that has been soaked for quite some time. Almost all of these pieces have a grain parallel to the side members and their installation requires patience. The hood and nose are in pad-shaped polystyrene and covered in fibre, while the large scale nose cone is 3D printed.

The dolly has been tested using the models I have already introduced to you: Kingcobra (oz14197), Mustang Stiletto (oz14273) and Sea Fury (oz14296) Furias. Its sizing is such as to adapt without problems to their configuration and also to the Corsair despite the presence of the particular gull wing. The engine is once again different from that of its predecessors. The fact is that when the model was completed, the engine mounted on the previous one was no longer available.

The new one is a 1250 Kv Sunnysky X2820-III, mounts the same propeller as the previous ones, namely an APC-E 11.5x5 and is powered by a 3-cell LiPo pack with 4200 mAh capacity. In these conditions, the absorption is around 70 A, the power 700 W and the revolutions 11,000 per minute. The model is, perhaps, the fastest in the series. The duration of the flight is about four and a half minutes for a residual charge of the package that varies between 25 and 30%.

The fuselage: The structure of the fuselage follows the method followed with the previous models: we start with the construction of a rectangular structure around the battery holder base; by fixing this part on a surface it is possible to correctly align the semi-frames of the lower part by covering with 3 mm balsa strips while everything is blocked on the work surface. The resulting structure is sufficiently rigid in bending and torsion so as to allow the completion of the fuselage by gluing the upper half-frames with the relative covering in the air. The rudders, since they were covered in canvas in the aircraft, have the mobile part covered with Solartex, one of the best heat-shrinkable fabrics that have ever been on the market. Now it is no longer produced, but I had clippings lying in the box for at least ten years or maybe more that I was able to apply without problems.

The wings: It's fun here. The wing is divided into five parts: a central one which rests on the fuselage, the two internal parts with negative dihedral and the external parts with positive dihedral. The various pieces are completely covered before joining them.

In the central part, in correspondence with the longitudinal members and protruding by at least a couple of centimetres, four birch plywood tabs will be glued which also serve to reinforce the connection, but which are particularly useful for their alignment. The joint is reinforced with 100 glass fabric. The latter is doubled in the lower joining area of the external parts. The reason is simple: this is where the model hits the ground when landing. The most 'mangy' part is the coating with 2 mm balsa of the joint area between the external and intermediate parts. I could have designed the model to have a butt joint without fillet since we are talking about a simple semi-reproduction, but it seemed to me that this solution..."
